Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
Account data: your name, email, and password (or Google sign-in). Wedding data: everything you enter while planning — dates, budgets, tasks, vendors, messages with Sage, photos, and website content. Guest data: names, emails, RSVP responses, and meal or dietary details you or your guests provide. Payment data: handled by Stripe; we never see card numbers.
2. Guest information — a special note
Couples decide which guests to add; Betwyne processes that information on the couple's behalf to run invitations, RSVPs, seating, and thank-yous. If you are a guest and want your information corrected or removed, contact the couple who invited you, or email us and we will help.
3. How we use it
To run Betwyne: build your plan, send the emails you ask us to send, show your wedding website to people you share it with, and process billing. AI features send relevant wedding context to Anthropic to generate responses; we don't use your data to train AI models. We never sell personal data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising. We only send marketing emails (planning tips, product updates) if you opt in — at sign-up or in Settings — and you can withdraw that consent anytime in Settings or via the unsubscribe link in any such email.
4. Who processes it for us
Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic (AI responses), Google (optional sign-in, contact import, and vendor search), Vercel (hosting), Upstash (rate limiting), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
5. Retention and deletion
Your data stays as long as your account is active. When you delete your account it is deactivated immediately (your wedding website unpublishes right away) and permanently erased — including guest data, photos, and both partners' accounts — 30 days later. Either partner can restore the account within those 30 days. You can download a full copy of your data anytime from Settings.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data from within the app. Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR or CCPA regions), you may have additional rights — email us and we will honor them.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is scoped so each couple can only reach their own records, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you promptly.
8. Google user data
What we access. If you use “Import from Google Contacts,” Betwyne requests read-only access to your Google Contacts (the contacts.readonly scope) and reads only two fields from each contact: their display name and their email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address, and your profile picture if Google provides one. We do not request or read any other Google data.
How we use it. Contact names and email addresses are shown to you in a picker so you can choose which people to add to your wedding guest list. Only the contacts you explicitly select are saved; the rest are discarded and never stored. Your Google access token is used only to make that single request on your behalf and is never stored on our servers.
Who we share, transfer, or disclose it to. Google user data that you choose to import is stored in our database, hosted by Supabase, and is served through Vercel, which hosts and runs the application. If you choose to send an invitation, RSVP reminder, or thank-you message to a guest, that guest's email address is transferred to Resend solely to deliver that message. We do not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to any other party. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising or any third-party advertising purposes, and we do not transfer it to data brokers or for any purpose unrelated to the features you asked for. We would disclose it otherwise only where we are legally required to do so.
AI and machine learning. Google user data is never sent to any AI or machine-learning model. Sage, our AI assistant, receives only aggregate wedding details — such as your wedding date, location, budget, and the number of guests — never contact names or email addresses. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train any AI or machine-learning model, and our AI provider does not train models on it.
Limited Use. Betwyne's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Keeping and deleting it. Imported guests remain until you remove them or delete your account. You can delete any individual guest at any time from the Guests page. Deleting your account permanently erases all imported contact data after the 30-day restore window. You can also revoke Betwyne's access to your Google account at any time from your Google account permissions page.
